CSES Module 2 Data Set Errata

Italy (2006) - B3037 (Like-Dislike - Parties) and B3038 (Left-Right - Parties)
In the Italy 2006 portion of the CSES Module 2 dataset, 475 respondents in variables B3037_A-B3037_F and B3038_A-B3038_F were incorrectly coded as 0 instead of 99. Due to survey length constraints in the Italy 2006 election study, one wave of the Italy 2006 election study did not include these questions, and as a result the data for these questions is missing for 475 respondents. In the CSES dataset the 475 respondents were coded 0 in error (as if they responded to the question), when instead they should have been coded as 99 (missing).

Included in the above ZIP file are two syntax files - one for use in SPSS (*.sps) and the other for use in STATA (*.do). These files can be easily adapted for other software programs as necessary.
After the correction code is applied, the frequency distribution for variables B3037_A-B3037_F and B3038_A-B3038_F should appear as follows for the 1,439 cases from the Italy 2006 election study:
